Maternity

You’re all aglow, mommy-to-be! This is a time to be proud of your amazing, strong & beautiful body. You’ll look back on these days with a heart full of joy, and having beautiful photographs makes those memories all the more special.

We recommend scheduling your session for between 32 and 37 weeks of pregnancy. At this point, your bump is nice and round and you’re usually still feeling pretty good. Avoid tight-fitting clothing and elastics against the skin for several hours prior to the photo session. Since you will be bearing your belly and other areas, you do not want undergarment dents or lines to blemish your skin’s smooth appearance. Moisturizer is a wonderful thing. Pay close attention to elbows, knees and heels. Tidy nails and hair are a must. Some women prefer to have their hair or make-up done professionally, but it’s all up to you.

Your wardrobe may consist of anything you feel confident and comfortable in, but not tent-like. This is your moment to show off what you’ve got and let that baby belly be seen! Suggestions include snug tops that will accentuate your maternal curves, wraps, tank tops and jeans. Black or solid colors are ideal. Avoid bold patterns, which camouflage the belly. Partial nude or “skin” photos are often part of our maternity sessions. We will discuss exactly what you’re looking for and what you’re comfortable with.

If you have any baby items you’ve received that you want to include in the session, bring them along. Shoes, sweet little baby toys, baby books and ultrasound pictures can be worked nicely into the photos. Excessive jewelry is discouraged, you’ll want your beauty and mommy-to-be glow stand for themselves. Some women want to include their partner or other children in photographs, others prefer to do the session alone. We’re happy to accommodate your wishes.

Maternity sessions can be held at our studio and/or courtyard, your home or another local outdoor location. We prefer to hold session in the early evening to take advantage of the warm evening light. Other times can certainly be arranged upon request. Maternity Collection options follow our Standard Session pricing and include a variety of digital and print products.

Not sure a full maternity session is what you're looking for? Consider the abbreviated "Sweet & Simple" Maternity Mini session. It's the perfect choice for those looking for just a handful of images to remember your pregnancy. 20-minutes, 5 final digital images for download with a print release.

Baby Shower Coverage

Ask about our Baby Shower coverage - having us document your special event frees up you and your family to just be in the moment and enjoy spending time together.  We'll capture all the decor and details you've worked so hard to put together, guests mingling, shower games and gift opening! These photos will have a special place in your baby's memory album. Coverage begins at $595 and depends on location and time commitment required. Please contact us for details!
